Privacy Policy
Effective 1 September 2026
Virginia Energy Solutions, LLC (“Virginia Energy Solutions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates virginiaenergysolutions.com and gosolarquiz.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, our online forms and quizzes, and the calls, emails and text messages we exchange with you.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, book an appointment, complete the Go Solar Quiz, ask about panel cleaning or a system audit, apply for a job, or contact us, we collect what you enter. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Your name, mobile or landline number, email address, and service address
- Your electric utility and your average monthly electric bill range
- Whether you own or rent your home, and whether your roof has shade
- A self-reported credit score range, used only to indicate which financing paths may be available
- The age and condition of your roof, existing solar equipment, and similar details about the property
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, on a call, or during a site visit
We do not run a credit check to produce a savings estimate, and we do not ask for a Social Security number, bank details or payment information through our website forms.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours record technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and the dates and times of your visits. We use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel for this. These tools use cookies and similar technologies, and they may set their own identifiers in your browser.
Information from advertising and referral sources. If you reach us through an online ad, a referral partner, or a shared link, we may receive the campaign or source that sent you.
How we use your information
- To prepare a solar savings estimate and, if you want one, a full system design
- To schedule, confirm, remind you about and follow up on appointments
- To perform the work you hire us to do, and to support the system afterwards
- To respond to your questions by phone, email or text
- To send service updates and, where you have agreed to it, marketing about our services
- To improve our website, our forms and our advertising
- To meet legal, tax, permitting, utility interconnection and warranty obligations
Text messages and your mobile information
If you give us your mobile number and check the consent box on one of our forms, we may text you. We run two kinds of messaging, and you consent to them separately:
- Transactional messages — appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, and replies to something you asked us.
- Marketing messages — offers and information about our services. You can receive transactional messages without agreeing to marketing ones.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf — for example, the customer messaging platform that delivers the message — is permitted solely so that those services can be performed. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party for any other purpose, and are never sold or rented.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers. Companies that operate our website, our customer relationship and messaging platform, our email and text delivery, and our analytics. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- Trade partners. If your project involves work we coordinate rather than perform — roofing, tree removal, generators, electrical — we share what that partner needs to quote and complete the job.
- Financing and utility parties. If you choose to finance a system or need utility interconnection or permitting, we share what those applications require, with your knowledge.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, our people, or the public.
- Business transfer. If the company is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.
Cookies and advertising choices
Our sites use cookies to remember your session, measure traffic, and measure the performance of our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and you can adjust ad personalization in your Google and Meta account settings.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and lead records for as long as we are actively working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records tied to installed systems are kept for the life of the system and its warranties, because we need them to support the equipment and honor those warranties. We keep whatever longer period tax, permitting or other law requires.
Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and we limit access to the people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, and stop text messages by replying STOP. Opting out of marketing does not stop messages about work already underway.
Virginia residents have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
Children
Our services are for homeowners and property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use our sites after a change means you accept the updated policy.
